Henrik has expertise within the field of chemistry in general, including organic, physical and analytical chemistry.
He provides advice to both direct clients with a strong focus on the strategic use of intellectual property rights based on the individual business model of each client and to overseas clients that he represents before the European Patent Office (EPO).
Henrik drafts and prosecutes both applications relating to non-medical and medical chemical inventions, with a special focus on APIs, processes for preparing APIs, and pharmaceutical formulations of APIs. He also has substantial experience in opposition proceedings before the EPO concerning this type of inventions.
He also has extensive experience with Freedom to Operate analyses, in particular concerning Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), and has been an invited speaker at conferences on this topic.
Henrik has furthermore extensive experience with patent enforcement and patent litigation, both in a coordinating capacity for several litigations across Europe for the same product, as well as advising clients involved in patent litigation in Denmark. The Association of Danish Intellectual Property Attorneys has added Henrik to its list of experts, who can be recommended by the Association when a court addresses the Association to recommend a patent expert to assist as a court-appointed expert in legal proceedings. Henrik has also completed the CEIPI – epi Course on Patent Litigation in Europe at the University of Strasbourg.
He is a member of the European Patent Institute (epi) and is a tutor at the CEIPI/epi Basic Training Course on European Patent Law in Madrid, Spain.
