Michael Friis Sørensen

Michael has worked as a research engineer within 3D sound at the Acoustics Laboratory at Aalborg University. Prior to joining Plougmann & Vingtoft, he worked as a consulting engineer within acoustics, noise and vibration.

During his 10 years at Plougmann & Vingtoft, Michael has become highly experienced in evaluating patentability, drafting and prosecuting patent applications. He has also successfully attended oral proceedings before the Examining and Opposition divisions at the EPO. Further, Michael has represented various clients in cases with IPR conflicts, including litigation.

Michael has IPR experience within: audio processing, loudspeakers, heat meters, communication systems, medical devices, miniature mechanical devices, and computer implemented inventions.

Michael enjoys maintaining his acoustics relations and keeping his technical skills up-to-date by participating in various seminars, e.g. by Danish Acoustical Society, Audio Engineering Society or at Aalborg University. He is also active as an external censor for engineering student exams at Aalborg University and Ingeniørhøjskolen Aarhus.
