While February is known for the disclosure of Michelin stars, May and June is the time for the election and celebration of leading IP professionals around the world. Previously this month, the ranking institute ‘Managing Intellectual Property’ (MIP) appointed Plougmann Vingtoft as one of the leading IP firms in the category ‘Patent Prosecution’ and named four of our attorneys IP Stars.

Recently, the other greatly acknowledged IP guide IAM Patent 1000, published their annual guide to the world’s leading patent professionals, in which Plougmann Vingtoft has received top marks and flattering remarks too. The guide is based on an extensive study conducted over five months, including almost 1,800 interviews with professionals and specialists from all over the world.

For the sixth year in a row, Plougmann Vingtoft is recognized for our patent expertise and ranked as ‘Highly recommended’. In the guide, IAM Patent 1000 describes Plougmann Vingtoft in this way:

Plougmann Vingtoft’s “strong position in the Danish legal market” and the loyalty of high-profile multinationals bear testament to its “experienced, intelligent attorneys” and their remarkable faculty for prosecution. Its IP strategists deliver “tailored and up-to-date market advice” to meet any requirement clients may have.

Outstanding patent experts

IAM Patent 1000 also ranks individual practitioners who are considered leaders within their area of practice, and who are acknowledged by the interviewees in the survey. In this ranking, four of our patent attorneys have been included on the list of leading patent professionals and received this compliment:

Both experts in the mechanical field, Peter Sørensen and Michael Friis Sørensen  come highly recommended for their gifts at the European Patent Office. Peter Sørensen’s “insight into the market and knowledge of his field” ensures that he works in harmony with in-house technical teams, while Michael Friis Sørensen is a former research engineer who guarantees his clients a sympathetic ear and a robust strategy to achieve their goals. Katja Sørensen is a food and life sciences specialist, active on both sides of the contentious divide. She ably assisted the set’s contentious mastermind Kim Wagner in his sally on behalf of Scandinavian dairy giant Arla Foods. “Kim Wagner stands out in litigation, demonstrating his rounded knowledge of patent law. His experience and understanding ensures his performance in oral proceedings carries the maximum possible weight.
