Steen is part of the Life Science & Chemistry team at Plougmann Vingtoft, where he contributes with his extensive expert knowledge within chemistry, particularly in inorganic and materials chemistry.

At Plougmann Vingtoft, Steen advises universities as well as small- and medium-sized companies. He works with all aspects of IPR, with a particular focus on drafting patentability assessments, patent applications, prosecution, and evaluations within life science and chemistry.

During his PhD and Master’s studies at the University of Copenhagen, Steen specialized in inorganic chemistry, focusing on the relationship between molecular structure and properties. His research emphasized chemical synthesis, spectroscopy, and the characterization of magnetic molecules, functional materials, and electrically conductive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). This work led to the publication of eight peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals.

Steen speaks Danish and English and joined Plougmann Vingtoft in 2025.
