Katja is part of our Life Science & Chemistry team and is a highly experienced IP specialist with more than 20 years of experience within IPR. Especially within the areas of chemistry, food science and technology, food ingredients, and biotechnology, her technical expertise is strong.
She has experience in working with all aspects of IPR but is highly experienced in the identification of inventions, drafting and handling patent applications, freedom-to-operate analyses, oppositions, and re-establishment of rights. Katja also has special expertise in performing searches in patent and scientific databases and in developing and using IPR-analyses as a tool for risk assessment and idea generation. As a result, she is a Board member of the user group Patent Information Forum (PIF) and a Board member and secretary of the European user group Confederacy of European Patent Information User Groups (CEPIUG). Likewise, she is a member of the SACEPO/PDI under the EPO.
Katja is an experienced lecturer on issues relating to patent and IP protection. She is registered as representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and is also a Qualified Patent Information Professional (QPIP).
Katja has worked at Plougmann Vingtoft since 2006 and with IPR since 2000.
