Robotics is a cross-disciplinary field of engineering and science that deals with the construction, design and use of robots as well as the computer systems behind their control, sensory feedback and information processing.
Robotics is a highly advanced technology used for many different purposes, such as general manufacturing, logistics, cleaning, healthcare, social therapy, education, space exploration and military tasks. Robots are of great advantage in dangerous environments where human beings cannot operate as for example bomb-detection.
The industry is growing rapidly, and Denmark takes 7th place in global robot density (the number of multipurpose industrial robots per 10,000 employees in the manufacturing sector), and this is without an auto industry to contribute to the numbers.
