The world needs entrepreneurs with visions to develop sustainable solutions. However, visions alone are not enough. At Plougmann Vingtoft, we therefore want to support Danish startups by providing expert guidance through our initiative, “IP Matters”.
The donation consists of expert guidance worth DKK 50,000, which the selected startups can use for guidance on handling intellectual property rights and business development. Navigating the world of IPR can be challenging, especially for startups, and intellectual property rights are often not top of mind for most startups. However, it is essential for all companies to protect their inventions, innovations, and ideas from being copied. In addition, a patent can secure the company’s investments in research and development, often a prerequisite for investor interest. Therefore, seeking professional assistance from IP experts can be beneficial.
Intellectual property rights are essential for any startup. While IP consulting cannot save the world, it provides entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to protect their innovative ideas and responsible solutions. Since the IP Matters initiative was founded in 2019, Plougmann Vingtoft has supported 14 different Danish startups. All contributing to global sustainable development in different ways. Previous recipients include Uvisa Health, GlyProVac and Robotto, as well as Nuterials, which received the donation last year for their development of cost-effective and responsible material solutions based on upcycled nut shells.
This year, IP Matters is awarded for the seventh time, and we are once again looking for visionary Danish startups that can benefit from our knowledge of IP as well as our guidance in business development.

How to apply
If you have an innovative idea that can make a difference in the world, you can now apply for IP consulting worth DKK 50,000. The application deadline is August 31, 2025.
We are accepting applications from Danish startup companies that fit the following profile:
- Danish startup
- Received funding of at least DKK 250,000 (equity or loan)
- Product/solution with direct impact on one or more of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals
